Dania Juarez, MA

Doctoral Practicum Student

Training, Experience, and Approach

Dania holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Northridge and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School in Los Angeles. She is currently an advanced practicum student obtaining her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School. Dania has provided psychotherapy in both community mental health and outpatient settings.

Dania has experience providing dyadic therapy to children ages 0–5 and their caregivers, supporting early developmental needs, behavioral challenges, ADHD, and anxiety. Her work with young children has included co-regulation strategies, caregiver support, and parent training based on evidence-informed parenting models.

Dania has also worked with adults in outpatient settings, providing individual therapy for those coping with complex trauma, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), eating disorders, and postpartum depression. In addition to psychotherapy, she has conducted comprehensive psychological assessments including evaluations for ADHD, and pre-surgical psychological evaluations for bariatric and spinal cord stimulation procedures.

Dania approaches therapy with cultural humility and a commitment to understanding each individual’s unique background and lived experience. She values creating an inclusive and collaborative therapeutic space where individuals from diverse backgrounds feel seen, heard, and supported.

Dania’s statement on her clinical work:

“I see therapy as a space where healing and self-discovery unfold through a trusting, collaborative relationship. My goal is to create an environment where individuals feel safe to reflect and explore the parts of themselves that may feel confusing, painful, or difficult to navigate. I approach the therapeutic process with curiosity, empathy, and the belief that growth happens over time.

“My therapeutic approach is grounded in psychodynamic therapy, with a focus on helping individuals understand how past relationships and early life experiences may be influencing their current emotional struggles, behaviors, and how they relate to others. Alongside psychodynamic therapy, I draw from other approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Attachment-Based Therapy, and mindfulness interventions. This integrative style allows me to support individuals in both exploring underlying patterns behind their struggles and developing practical tools to manage stress, anxiety, and day-to-day challenges. My goal is to help individuals feel grounded, develop self-awareness, and navigate life’s challenges to live a more fulfilling and happier life.”
